About This Website

Created 2025 using WordPress and the Blocksey Theme as a personal, avocational project. It has no commercial purpose or profit motivation. It is intended for informational and educational purposes only. Site content should not be taken as legal or business advice, and consumption and use of information from this site shall not be taken as forming the basis for a client relationship between the site administrator and/or a content contributor and any persons consuming and using the information.

This site is the first complete website I have ever built. The overall look including layout and color scheme is a function of a combination, or compromise, of what I envisioned and what my skill set allowed. My choice to use graphic images instead of photos to create a certain look was intentional. I got the images from websites such Pexels and Pixabay where they were availabe for use royalty free. The links on the Home page are arranged in a kind of rough order as viewed from left to right and top to bottom. The first few links are pitched more toward what I think would interest and assist self-preparers while the latter ones are geared more toward the broader needs of professional tax preparers. The arrangement also loosely tracks the flow of a tax return or tax issue from prepation and filing to a possible court appeal.

There are a lot of tax blogs on the internet. Some of them are the product of major corporations operating in the industry. I can’t compete head-to-head with them. So, I want to make this site useful by having it be more targeted, more specialized than those blogs. The audience I would like to reach is composed of taxpayers who want to prepare their own fairly basic tax returns and tax professionals who serve a more or less middle-class client base preparing individual and small business partnership and corporation returns. Preparing tax returns for yourself or others is a serious matter, but while acknowledging that reality, I would like for this website to take a friendly and engaging approach to the subject matter. On the subject of links to other websites, I use them obviously. Many of them point to specific topics on the sprawling website maintained by the IRS. When it comes to preparing tax returns and making payments, accuracy is valued. Originality can lead to problems. So I’ve tried to offer links that that lead to accurate, compresensive, and authoritive information. Outside links have a place and serve a useful purpose, but they are subject to overuse. A website that is only a list of links doesn’t provide much added value. What I have tried to do here is provide a limited group of selected links that both individual taxpayers and tax professionals will find useful and lead to subject matter that they, particularly tax professoinals, need to access on a recurring basis.
